Terms of service — The Great Cloud: Aether Refiner

Applies to: The Great Cloud: Aether Refiner for Android and for iPhone and iPad (life.thegreatcloudgame.refiner), including its playtests.
Version 1.2 of these terms · last updated 5 November 2026 · effective 5 November 2026

At a glance

1. Who we are and these terms

The Great Cloud: Aether Refiner (the “app”) is made and published by The Great Cloud LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17522895; registered office: Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE) (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@thegreatcloudgame.life.

These terms are the agreement between you and us for the app on Android, iPhone and iPad. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install or use the app.

How the app handles data is explained in its privacy notice. The terms of the store you got the app from (Google Play or Apple’s App Store) also apply to your use of that store; see section 11 for the App Store.

2. Who can play

The app is rated for ages 13 and over. If you are under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian. Before buying anything, get permission from the person whose account or payment method you are using, and any parental permission the law where you live requires.

3. Your licence to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, as the rules of the store you got it from allow, for your own non-commercial entertainment. The licence lasts until it ends under section 10.

These restrictions do not limit anything these terms, the store’s rules or the licences for third-party components expressly allow, or any right the law does not let us exclude, such as making a backup copy you need. Subject to that, you may not, and may not help anyone else to:

You are welcome to stream, record and share videos and screenshots of yourself playing, including on channels that earn money, as long as you don’t suggest that we endorse you.

4. Optional purchases, codes and refunds

The app is free to install and has no advertising in this release. The in-game store sells optional booster packs and permanent cosmetic looks. Nothing you can buy is needed to finish any level. Every booster pack shows exactly what is in it before you buy: nothing random is sold.

Refunds are requested from the store you bought through: Google Play on Android, Apple on iPhone and iPad. If something you bought does not arrive or does not work, you can also contact us directly at support@thegreatcloudgame.life: see section 9 for what we will do. Nothing in this section limits your legal rights against us.

If you live in the UK or the EU, the law usually gives you 14 days from your purchase to cancel it. For digital content, that right can end earlier, once supply starts (for an in-app item, when it is delivered to you), but only if, before then, you gave your express consent for supply to start within those 14 days, acknowledged that you would then lose the right to cancel, and received confirmation of this in a form you can keep. Accepting these terms is not by itself that consent or acknowledgement. If those conditions are not met, you keep your right to cancel and your other legal rights.

5. Cloud save and other services

The app plays fully offline. Cloud save through Google Play Games on Android, or through Game Center and iCloud on iPhone and iPad, and achievements through Game Center, are optional, are run by Google or Apple under their own terms, and work only while those services do. We cannot recover progress that exists only on a device that is lost or reset without a cloud save.

6. Updates and future features

We may release updates to fix problems, add levels, improve the app, keep it working with new devices or keep it secure. An update will not take away cosmetic looks you have bought, or the main features of the app, unless the law requires it or the change is needed for security. If an update ever has to remove a main feature or something you paid for in a way that affects your use of it more than slightly, you keep your rights under section 9, and if you live in the EU you can also end these terms free of charge within 30 days after the later of receiving our notice of the change and the change taking effect, and receive an appropriate refund, including a full refund where the law requires it. Where the law requires it, we will give you reasonable advance notice in a form you can keep, explaining the change, when it takes effect and how to end these terms. We will provide, and tell you about, any updates the law requires, and any change we make for legal or security reasons will be limited to what is reasonably necessary. If we ever stop offering the app on the stores, that would not by itself disable a copy already installed on your device, or the progress and looks already on it; the app does not depend on services we operate to play offline.

Later versions may add new features, such as a companion mode linked to an account for The Great Cloud or optional rewarded videos. None of these is in the app today. If a new feature needs extra terms, we will publish them on this page before the version that adds it, and the feature will stay optional where we say so.

7. Fair play

The app is a single-player game. Please don’t use cheats, modified copies of the app or tricks to obtain paid content without paying for it. If you find a bug that gives away paid content, please tell us rather than use it.

8. Our rights in the app

The app, including its code, levels, art, music, sound, characters, names, text and the world of The Great Cloud, belongs to us or to the people who licensed it to us. You get only the licence in section 3. The Great Cloud™ is a trade mark of The Great Cloud LTD. The app includes some third-party components under their own open-source licences; you can ask us for the licence texts at support@thegreatcloudgame.life.

9. Our responsibility to you

Your legal rights. If you live in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says digital content you pay for must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something you paid for is faulty, including where a fault in the app stops you using content you paid for, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. If neither is possible, or we do not provide it that way, you can require an appropriate price reduction, which means a refund of part or all of the price you paid. Whether or not you paid, if digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and using reasonable care and skill would have prevented that, we will repair the damage at our expense, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, or pay you appropriate compensation. If you live elsewhere, you have the rights the law where you live gives you. Nothing in these terms takes away or limits those rights.

What we are not responsible for. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for any business losses: the app is for private, personal use only. We are also not responsible for loss caused solely by events genuinely beyond our reasonable control where we have taken reasonable steps to prevent or minimise it. We remain responsible for our own breaches of these terms, for any lack of reasonable care and skill, and for anything done on our behalf. Using third-party services, such as the store and the services in section 5, does not remove your remedies for content that is faulty or not as described.

What we never limit. We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

10. Ending these terms

You may end these terms, and stop using and uninstall the app, at any time. Uninstalling alone does not cancel your store purchases or stop you reinstalling the app where the store allows. We can end your licence if you commit a serious breach or repeated material breaches of these terms, for example by distributing modified copies or obtaining paid content without paying. Where reasonably possible, we will give you notice and a chance to put the breach right. When the licence ends, you must stop using the app and delete it. Ending these terms does not affect any right to a refund you have under the law or under the store’s policies.

11. If you got the app from the App Store

If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, these terms are the end user licence agreement for the app between you and us, in place of Apple’s standard licence. You may use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions allow, together with any access Apple permits through Family Sharing, volume purchasing or Legacy Contacts. You and we also agree that:

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Wherever you live, this does not take away the mandatory consumer protections of the law where you live. You can bring proceedings in the courts available to you under consumer law, including your local courts where that law allows; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, that includes the courts there. If you have a problem with the app, please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. No third party other than Apple and its subsidiaries under section 11 has any right to enforce these terms.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms only to reflect changes in the law, security or technical changes we need to make, new optional features, or to make them clearer. Each version carries a number and a date at the top of this page. We will give you reasonable notice before a change that significantly affects you takes effect, on this page and in the app where practical. A change will not take away cosmetic looks or unused boosters you have bought, reduce your rights in anything you have already bought, or affect your legal rights under section 9, and we will not make a change that materially reduces your rights without your agreement unless the law requires it. If we can no longer supply what you bought, you keep any legal remedy or refund you are entitled to. If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using the app, and doing so does not affect any refund right you have under the law or the store’s policies.
